Brainzie Poolside (the "app") is a free stopwatch for swimmers, parents and coaches, operated by Brainzie Ltd. It runs entirely in your web browser. This policy explains the little data involved.
The times you record — splits, sessions, races — are held in your browser on your own device (in local storage) so you can pick up where you left off. They are never uploaded to us and we cannot see them. If you choose to sign in to save your history, those results are stored in your own Google Drive or OneDrive account — under your control, never on a server we operate.
So we know which features are worth improving, the app records usage counts: an allow-listed action name (for example "race started" or "shared"), a number, and whether the account is on the free or a paid plan — never any of your times or personal data. Each count is filed under a pseudonym. If you haven't signed in, that is a random identifier your browser makes up, which we store only as a one-way, salted hash. If you have signed in, the app asks our server once per sign-in to confirm who you are with Google or Microsoft and turn your verified email address into a one-way, salted hash; the server sends back and keeps only that hash, never your email, so we count people rather than browsers. A pseudonym cannot be turned back into your email. This tells us how many people use the app and how much — never who. The counts are processed by Cloudflare on our behalf and deleted automatically after three months.
On this website (the pages you are reading now, not the app) we count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics. It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device and collects no personal data: we see only anonymous, aggregate numbers such as page views, the site that referred a visit and the country it came from.
An owner-only statistics screen lets Brainzie sign in with Google or Microsoft to read those anonymous counts. This is for the app's owner; it does not apply to normal use, and signing in is never required to use any timing tool.
The app and this site are hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any website, Cloudflare may process basic request information (such as IP address) to serve pages and protect against abuse, under its own terms.
Because we don't hold your timing data or any account, there's nothing of yours for us to access, export or delete on a server — clearing your browser data removes everything the app stored. For any privacy question, contact Brainzie.
